Birthdate: November 15, 1969 or 1971 Kyousuke is the male protagonist in the love triangle. He and his siblings possess supernatural abilities, known as "The Power," and are described as espers in the series. They are strictly prohibited from using their powers publicly to avoid discovery and exploitation. Whenever someone witnesses their abilities, the family relocates immediately. Kyousuke's esper powers encompass teleportation, telekinesis, and "time-slipping" (a form of time travel) when falling from heights such as stairs. He can manipulate mechanical devices like elevators and traffic lights. By directing his powers to his ears, he can amplify his hearing. Additionally, he has demonstrated hypnotism, as seen when he hypnotized himself to become more decisive. Kyousuke occasionally uses his powers to temporarily enhance his speed and strength. In rare instances—usually when Madoka is in direct danger—his power manifests as raw energy capable of shattering concrete walls or shorting out all the lights in a disco. Kyousuke is generally a gentle and somewhat overly conscientious person. When he catches Madoka smoking, he scolds her in a very nerdy manner (and then uses his powers to destroy her cigarette). His indecisiveness leads to the love triangle with Hikaru and Madoka. Initially, he struggles to choose between his feelings for Hikaru and Madoka. As the story progresses, however, he finds it difficult to end his relationship with Hikaru for fear of hurting her feelings and damaging her friendship with Madoka.
