The main character of the game, Kyle, bears a strong resemblance to his father, Stahn. Both Kyle and Stahn share a straightforward and simplistic personality. However, Kyle has few memories of his father, as Stahn embarked on a journey when Kyle was very young. This is what Kyle has been told by his mother, Rutee, and his closest friend, Loni. In reality, Stahn was killed by Barbatos during Kyle's childhood. Rutee manages the Dunamis Orphanage in Cresta, making the other children there feel like family to Kyle. He is particularly close to Loni, who treats him like a little brother; their bond has been built over more than ten years. Kyle firmly believes he will become a hero someday, driven by the heroic lineage from his parents. Stahn and Rutee were part of the group that addressed the perilous Eye of Atamoni about eighteen years before the events of Tales of Destiny 2. In combat, Kyle is a formidable physical attacker, wielding swords with skill, while his magic remains relatively weak and underdeveloped. These traits further draw parallels between Kyle and Stahn.
