At the age of 23, Kumiko Yamaguchi finally realized her childhood dream of becoming a teacher. Unfortunately, the classroom she teaches math in at Shirokin Gakuen Private Boys' High School is populated by a group of juvenile delinquents, much like the rest of the school. These students are led by the mysterious Shin Sawada, and Kumiko struggles to get them to take their studies seriously. If the students weren't challenging enough, the school's vice principal, Goro Sawatari, seems almost eager for Kumiko to fail, occasionally sabotaging her efforts. If people knew about Kumiko's family background, they might tread more carefully around her. You see, Kumiko is also the acting Koumichou, or head of the Ooedo Clan, a powerful yakuza organization. Her grandfather Ryuichiro Kuroda, the Koumichou of the Ooedo and Kumiko's guardian since her parents' deaths, has fallen ill, so she now fills in for him. The group of bodyguards that often surrounds Kumiko (who address her as 'Ojou') includes Tetsu Asakura and Minoru Tatsuwaka. They tend to be overly protective of Kumiko, and she must assert her authority over these bulky men to keep them in line... especially when they heard the students teased her on her first day of class! Kumiko is an exceptional martial artist, which proved useful when she discovered that a former student, Hiroki Kudoh, had sneaked back into the school to bully younger students, including Kuma. However, Kumiko must be very cautious not to reveal that she is the Koumichou of the Ooedo.
