A dedicated sprinter on the track team, he is on an athletic scholarship. Despite his talent, he isn't as fast as Yamato in the 100 meters. He harbors resentment towards Yamato because of his superior track performance and because the girl he likes, Honoka, only had eyes for Yamato. Like Yamato, he was scouted by universities during his senior year of high school. When Yamato and Suzuka informed the high school track club that they had dropped out of Seijo University, he was the only member who expressed disappointment with their decision. There's a running joke that in every picture he appears in, he is either cut off or barely visible. Arima and Kenji represent Japan in the 100m and 200m races.
