shinjou kaoru

The owner of the Picaresque Beauty Salon. Kaoru formerly styled hair for the band ZLAY and claimed she had an intimate relationship with one of its members, much to Julia's dismay. She has a mischievous personality and enjoys stirring up trouble, often going out of her way to upset Julia and Ran. Kaoru is surprised that Ran is oblivious to Julia's intense feelings for her. It appears Kaoru has a flirtatious interest in Saeki, though this might just be her teasing nature. She frequently makes advances on Saeki but is always rebuffed. Kaoru seems to have a complicated dynamic with her client, Haruna, using it as an opportunity to tease the younger girl who clearly has a crush on her. Somehow, both Julia and Ran seek her advice despite it never being helpful and rarely making them feel better. Kaoru finds amusement in exacerbating their problems rather than solving them. Kaoru often gets smacked by Saeki whenever she acts foolishly. She is almost always seen cutting or styling Haruna's hair whenever she appears in a scene.
