He is the director of the research center, over 70 years old, conducting experiments on diclonius. He hails from a lineage of diclonius ancestry that has been diluted through interbreeding with humans—a fact mostly disclosed in the manga. Consequently, he possesses no vectors and has significantly smaller horns on his head. His objective, along with his son's, is partly to enrich their bloodline using the diclonius they are experimenting on (Lucy being the first capable of reproduction) and thereby attain power as the "kings" of this new race.
