Alongside Kohta, she accidentally stumbled upon Professor Kakuzawa's severed head and cautioned the boy not to share what he had seen or heard with anyone else. Afterward, she reported her findings to Director Kakuzawa at his compound facility. However, he did not let her off easily after noticing his son's horns. Chief Kakuzawa threatened her to take charge of his deceased son's research, warning that refusal would result in her death.
In the anime, Arakawa appears as a minor character whose role offers little to no contribution towards advancing the plot. She is frequently depicted complaining about being too busy to take a shower, which becomes a recurring gag throughout the series.
Nevertheless, her character ultimately assumes a crucial role in ensuring humanity's salvation during the final story arc of the manga.
