Sasaki Isaburou is the commander of the Mimawarigumi. His character is based on the real-life leader of the Mimawarigumi, Sasaki Tadasaburo.
Born into the prestigious samurai family Sasaki as the main heir, Isaburou is also the half-brother of Sasaki Tetsunosuke.
His personality drastically changes when writing emails on his cellphone. He insists that people call him Sabu-chan and admits he doesn't have many friends. Due to his difficulty in expressing his feelings verbally, he prefers texting via his cellphone. Additionally, he feels a strong need to emphasize the elite status of the Mimawarigumi.
Isaburou places great trust in Nobume's abilities as an assassin and values her as one of the most loyal members of the Mimawarigumi. He is well aware of Nobume's love for donuts and often uses them as a reward for her excellent work.
