Another high-level player, Il-Ban doesn't play a significant role in the series until Volume 6. Capri, who earlier referred to him and is a close friend of Il-Ban, mentioned how Il-Ban assisted him early in the game, contradicting his title "Dark Priest of the Dragon Lands," and his intimidating appearance (he looks menacing with an inverted cross on his forehead). Il-Ban later clarifies what it means to be a Dark Priest when he resurrects Rapha as a Night Shade, a spirit-type monster.
Il-Ban is deeply familiar with the game's mechanics and events, potentially having ties with the company behind it. He also encountered Alpha during a flashback and was the one who named him a ranger. During quests to slay monsters, Il-Ban hesitates to attack them, seemingly aware of the game's inner workings before they unfold. Despite his character not being very strong, he is highly intelligent and can hold his own in battles effortlessly.
