Hyakkimaru is the central figure in Tezuka's renowned samurai tale, Dororo. As a formidable warrior, Hyakkimaru embarks on an extended journey to reclaim 48 parts of his body that his father bartered to demons at his birth. This series is a deeply dramatic adventure, featuring a wide array of unique mythological beings and demons, alongside bandits and other fearsome adversaries. Over time, the harsh realities of his travels render Hyakkimaru increasingly distant and solemn. Thus, as he regains more of his physical self, he paradoxically becomes less human.
