yamashina hinako

A teacher at Fujigaya Girls' Academy, her alma mater. Yamashina is the home room teacher of Akira and Ryouko. She becomes the subject of classroom gossip, with some students claiming she is in a relationship with another woman. Akira overhears discussions about Yamashina-sensei and feels upset when she realizes that not only is their teacher being slandered, but same-sex relationships are also being condemned. Ryouko also finds the classroom gossip unsavoury and tasteless. She knows Oono Haruka personally because she is close to Haruka's older sister, Oono Orie. In several flashback segments, it is revealed that Hinako does indeed like women, as her students speculate. She had a crush on Orie in high school and attempted several times to give her a love letter (the very same letter that Haruka finds years later while cleaning out her sister's old bedroom). Hinako is also connected to the Sugimoto sisters, having worked alongside Sugimoto Kazusa as teachers at Fujigaya and attended school during the same time as Sugimoto Shinako.
