Age: 24 (Part I), 25 (Part II) Hatenko is a man with yellow hair and orange eyes. He wears black pants, a red shirt (with "Hajikegumi" (ハジケ組) written on the back), and always wears a scarf regardless of the weather. Hatenko has a rather laid-back and smug personality. He rarely considers his opponents as much of a challenge unless he is completely sure they pose a real threat. Hatenko is one of the most enigmatic characters in Bo-bobo, aligning with nearly every force that crosses his path. His true allegiance lies with his home in the Hair Kingdom, serving as an emissary for Hair Child (and Bo-bobo's big sister) Bububu-bu Bu-bubu, tasked with bringing her little brother to save their collective home. Additionally, Hatenko is associated with the Hajikegumi, where his obsession with Don Patch often blinds him to his true mission, even when he knows exactly what he must do. There are instances where the Maruhage Empire manipulates him into working alongside them, such as forcing him to lure Bo-bobo into Evil Blood Mansion to eliminate him, using OVER's Kill Seal against him to compel obedience at the risk of his own life. Ultimately, Hatenko's mysterious nature defines him; his aloofness prevents anyone from fully understanding his true meaning or purpose—at least whenever Don Patch isn't involved. Initially, he appears to be one of the few level-headed characters in the series, but his obsession with Don Patch reveals otherwise. Whenever Don Patch is around, Hatenko immediately enters a fan-boy state, believing Don Patch to be invincible and admiring everything he does. The only exception to this behavior is when Hatenko is in a serious fight.
