Ruri and Hari are identical twin cat-demon subordinates of Kouryuu. They have the ability to transform into ordinary house cats to conceal their true identities from the human world. However, during daylight hours, they must remain in their cat form, much like how Kohaku and Kouryuu shrink down. They are willing to do anything Kouryuu asks of them in order to receive gifts, often involving sexual favors, or to collect souls. They greatly admire Kouryuu's wickedness. The only way to distinguish between Ruri and Hari is by their jewelry—Ruri wears circular designs on her earring and necklace (or earrings and tail when in cat form), while Hari wears bar-shaped designs on hers.
