Terazuma is not mentioned in the anime version of Yami no Matsuei, but he makes brief appearances in the opening sequence, as well as the first and last episodes. He somewhat serves as Tsuzuki's rival. Terazuma despises relying on shikigami instead of one's own strength, which leads him to claim a strong dislike for Tsuzuki, who commands 12 powerful shikigami. In contrast, Terazuma possesses a parasitic shikigami named Kagan Kuroshuki, which was forced upon him against his will. He can transform into this shikigami at will, yet struggles to control it. Additionally, any contact with a female or exposure to water triggers an involuntary transformation.
Terazuma and Tsuzuki frequently engage in battles that often result in collateral damage, such as the destruction of the newly rebuilt library—a structure previously demolished by Tsuzuki during the Devil's Trill arc. Despite having their paychecks docked to cover the damages, they remain undeterred. Although Terazuma professes hatred towards Tsuzuki, there are moments when he shows concern. For instance, after the Kyoto arc, he visited Tsuzuki in the hospital, albeit awkwardly, and wished for his swift recovery, albeit phrased more like an insult.
Terazuma excels in archery, first appearing in volume four of the manga during an archery competition. Initially, he admired Hisoka's dedication to improving his archery skills, but this admiration quickly faded upon learning that Hisoka was Tsuzuki's partner. During a tournament where all three were teamed up, tensions arose due to Terazuma's short temper and Tsuzuki's lack of skill. An absurd rule required Terazuma to kiss a teammate, leading him to choose Hisoka, imagining him as a flat-chested girl. This fantasy allowed his shikigami to take over, costing them points.
He hails from EnMaCho Shokan Division and partners with Wakaba, who is the only one capable of reverting him to human form. On the surface, Terazuma seems annoyed by their partnership and her clinginess, but there are moments when he exhibits affection and even jealousy when she spends time with others. Before his death, he worked as a detective in Hiroshima, though his investigative skills left much to be desired. During the "stolen" mask arc, Terazuma accused everyone without proper reasoning until concluding they were all involved.
