In 1930, mistaking the immortality elixir for alcohol, he consumes it and subsequently distributes it at a party, leading to his own immortality. That same year, he falls in love with Ennis and plays a crucial role in saving her and other new immortals by devouring Szilard Quates. Despite Ennis's initial inability to reciprocate his feelings due to her underdeveloped emotional capabilities, they eventually live together and get married. When Maiza leaves the Martillo family in the 1970s, Firo takes over as the family's bookkeeper until Maiza returns.
