A mysterious individual who appears in Mai's visions.
Eugene A.J. Davis is Naru's twin brother, a psychic medium who passed away before the series began. Although the full meaning of his middle initials (A.J.) remains unknown, he was affectionately called Gene by his brother. Gene was considered a "perfect medium"; when he channeled spirits, he could speak in the language native to the spirit, regardless of his own knowledge of it.
This ability convinced Oliver that Gene was genuinely channeling the spirits rather than merely using psychometry to communicate with them. In the series, Gene appears as a spirit who guides Mai's visions.
