The protagonist is the daughter of two champion parents but wants nothing to do with her family's legacy, aspiring instead for a typical teenage existence. Her grandfather arranged her marriage to Ruo, her childhood friend, which she staunchly opposes, longing only for an ordinary relationship. To dodge this unwanted union, she falsely claims Kazuki Shindo, a boy she randomly met at a music store, as her boyfriend. Unexpectedly, genuine affection begins to blossom between them. Elle enjoys what feels like a genuinely "normal" date with Kazuki, though it gets cut short when she suffers a burn while cooking dinner. It doesn't take long before Elle realizes her love for Kazuki and inadvertently confesses her feelings in her sleep. Miraculously, Kazuki reciprocates these sentiments. The second volume concludes with Elle discovering Choppy, Kazuki's dog, at her front door.
