Dario Brando is a minor, fictional character from the manga JoJo's Bizarre Adventure by Hirohiko Araki. Dario is a poor man living in Victorian England who witnesses George Joestar's carriage crash one day in 1868. Believing everyone inside is dead, Dario attempts to loot the wreckage. However, he is spotted by George, who is still alive. George mistakenly believes that Dario saved his life and is very grateful. Twelve years later, as Dario lies on his deathbed, he sends Dio to live with George, considering it repayment for George's supposed debt to him. After Dario's death, Dio spits on his grave. Dario was known for being an alcoholic, yet George always treated him kindly. Even when Dario was jailed for stealing George's wife's ring, George intervened, calling it a gift, which led to Dario's release. In Steel Ball Run, Dario's counterpart appears much younger but exhibits an even crueler personality. He shows no hesitation in throwing his own infant son, Diego, into a river to die. His fate afterward remains unknown, though it is implied that he was being pursued by his son.
