bruford

Bruford is an antagonist from Part I: Phantom Blood. He is a vampire created from the centuries-old remains of a brave and powerful warrior from ancient Britain. Alongside Tarkus, Bruford was one of "The Dark Knights." He possessed exceptional combat skills and powers linked to his dark hair and his sword, "Luck Pluck." Bruford and Tarkus succeeded in the Challenge of the 77 in 1563, becoming two of only five challengers to achieve this feat in history. Before their corruption, they were members of the Tudor Dynasty and served as retainers for Mary Stuart. They were eventually beheaded for supporting Mary against her political rival, Elizabeth. Elizabeth's deception to force them to surrender led to a deep sense of betrayal, making them vulnerable to manipulation by Dio. Dio Brando later resurrected the pair as vampires to oppose Jonathan Joestar, Will A. Zeppeli, and Robert Speedwagon. Bruford's ability to manipulate his hair posed significant challenges to Jonathan, leading to an underwater battle. Jonathan eventually finds air bubbles beneath the rocks, allowing him to breathe and strike Bruford with a ripple overdrive. As Bruford disintegrates from the ripple, he hands Jonathan his sword, Luck and Pluck. However, Tarkus, filled with wrath, kicks Bruford's corpse aside and attempts to finish off Jonathan and his companions on his own.
