Jiraia, whose real name is Danzou Tobita, is the most feared ninja across all lands. He was the strongest member of the Oniwabanshu, the creator of the Hyakka, and the founder and leader of the Hundred Blooms, as well as Tsukuyo's master. Born in a rural area to Iga samurai, he displayed a natural talent for ninjutsu from a young age, which led him to become a ninja. However, he was compelled to serve under those he despised. His name is inspired by Jiraiya, a legendary ninja from Japanese folklore.
