Coud is a member of the Red Lynx sky pirates, though he isn't very skilled or respected due to his young age. He accidentally awakens the Edel Raid Ren during a raid. Despite her initial dislike for humans, Cou treats her like any other girl and fights to protect her when pursuers show up. In return, Ren bonds with him, enhancing his abilities. He agrees to escort Ren to Eden Garden, and through their journey, Ren's attitude towards humans begins to change.
On his own, Cou uses a grappling hook-type weapon, primarily for dodging attacks and outsmarting enemies, though he isn't particularly successful. After bonding with Ren, she replaces his right arm with a wind-based sword. This new weapon allows them to manipulate wind, using it both offensively to strike enemies and defensively to create barriers.
Cou's naive perspective on the conflict between Edel Raids and humans leads him to treat everyone equally. He stays by Ren's side not for her power but because he has developed feelings for her. However, he struggles to express these feelings to her effectively.
