Chuu is the true captain of the Jolly Devil Six, also known as Team Rokuyukai. One of his fighting styles is the Drunken Fist, where he moves with an erratic, stumbling motion. This not only makes him hard to attack but also allows him to move very quickly. By fusing his demon energy with alcohol, he creates his Sui Ken, a ball of energy that he hurls at his opponent.
His other preferred fighting style is the Knife Edge Death Match. In this type of battle, he embeds knives into the arena floor and both he and his opponent place their feet on the knives. The first one to slip their foot off loses, and the winner has the right to kill the loser. Chuu later falls in love with a demon girl named Natsume during the Makai Tournament and surrenders to her immediately when they face each other in the preliminaries. In the English dub, he is given an Australian accent.
