Chiaki is a new student who lives in the same apartment complex as Maron, specifically in the apartment next door. He is also in the same class as Maron and Miyako. Chiaki left his home because of something he felt compelled to do. Similar to Maron, Chiaki has an alter ego known as Kaitou Sinbad. Like Jeanne, he possesses the ability to seal demons using pins, although in the manga, he uses daggers instead. Initially, he appears to oppose Maron, but this is for a specific reason. He is aware of Maron's true identity.

Chiaki has a reputation as a "ladies man" or "womanizer," frequently attempting to charm Maron. At first, Maron finds him unbearable due to his persistent attempts to protect her. Initially, Chiaki claims he was just trying to get closer to her, but later admits he wants to protect her forever.
