A one-eyed man currently holding the title of the Knight of One, he is recognized as the strongest among the Rounds. Bismarck pilots the Knightmare Frame Galahad. Despite his prestigious status and formidable combat skills, he holds the belief that war should only be employed as a final option. He also views unrestrained strength as gratuitous violence. During the second battle of Tokyo, Bismarck commands the Britannian forces defending the shore against Li Xingke's invading troops. In their confrontation, Li struggles to overcome Bismarck. Bismarck acknowledges Li's prowess when Li deliberately takes a hit to position himself for rescuing the Chinese command vessel. When Schneizel attempts a coup d'état against Emperor Charles, Bismarck intervenes to thwart Suzaku's assassination attempt on the Emperor. Suzaku's "live" command compels him to escape, highlighting Waldstein's extreme danger. After the Emperor's death and Lelouch's rise to the throne, Bismarck leads three remaining Rounds members and a Knightmare squadron in an effort to oust Lelouch from power. However, they are heavily defeated by Suzaku in the Lancelot Albion. Bismarck tries to use his Geass, which grants him foresight into the next few seconds, to balance the odds. He remarks that Marianne was the only person he ever needed to use it on. Despite Bismarck's Geass, Suzaku's "live" command enables him to triumph, slicing the Galahad in half.
