atsuki

A young woman is preparing for her high school entrance exams at the start of the story. Exhausted, she falls asleep in the snow one day and is found by Kai. They quickly grow close when he offers to tutor her. They fall in love, but Kai stands her up after promising to meet her once she gets her exam results. On the same day she is stood up, she meets Takami and congratulates him on also passing the exams. They become classmates from then on, and Takami develops a deep affection for her because she was the only one to congratulate him. One day, she follows Takami and discovers him visiting Kai's grave. Takami is forced to explain that he is Kai's younger brother. Kai, who was fatally ill, had asked him to take care of Atsuki if he should die. This revelation puts some distance between them, but Atsuki and Takami eventually come to terms with their feelings and confess their mutual love.
