A deceased Vestrian female sailor, Alma's ghost haunts Vestry's underground cave along with her crew. She is the only one among them capable of materializing into a ghostly human form. Approximately four years before the First MÄR-Heaven War, Alma became Phantom's sweetheart. However, their relationship soured when Phantom took on the Zombie Tattoo from his Queen, Diana. An argument ensued, and realizing she could not sway his belief in the magnificence of immortality, Alma bid Phantom farewell, never to meet him again.
Alma and her crew perished during the First War and were cursed by the King of Chess Pieces to remain as wandering ghosts sealed within the underground cave. This cave also housed the Holy ÄRM Purific Ave. Six years later, at the onset of the Second War Game, Ginta and his companions arrived in Vestry and ventured into the cave to defeat the two Chess Bishops, Orco and Girom, responsible for ravaging Vestry. After defeating Girom, Ginta cleared the blocked end of the cave, allowing the ship to depart. As a token of gratitude, and hoping to stop Phantom, Alma gave Ginta one magic stone and the Purific Ave before ascending to heaven.
In an exclusive anime appearance during the Ghost Chess attack, Alma transported Ginta and Dorothy back to Phantom's fortress after they were expelled there by the Ghost Chess. Following the attack, she appeared before Phantom, assuring him that he was not unloved, thus helping his soul find salvation before he died.
