Akira is a renowned artist at Fuka Academy and shares a room with Takumi Tokiha, Mai's younger brother. Akira has a strong-willed and assertive personality, which contrasts sharply with Takumi's gentle and somewhat feminine demeanor. Unbeknownst to many, Akira is actually a Kunoichi, a female ninja, and also a HiME tasked with eliminating anyone who discovers her father's secret. Takumi accidentally learns of her true identity when she summons Gennai to protect him from an orphan. However, she spares his life after Kazuki promises to keep her secret.
Gennai, her Child, is a giant frog capable of emitting light from its back. Akira uses this ability by throwing a kunai into the enemy's shadow, paralyzing them. Gennai then attacks by shooting out its spiked tongue fast enough to pierce through an orphan completely.
