The main protagonist, Akira, is a woman of androgynous beauty. She possesses a dignified demeanor and a strong will. During her high school years, she was more popular among girls than boys and was frequently mistaken for a man (for instance, she won a magazine's bishounen contest that her classmates entered her in as a joke). Over time, she blossoms into a young lady. Found as a baby in a bamboo thicket, she was taken in by the Kashiwagi family, but after her adoptive parents divorced when she was three, Akira was left on Kabuchi Island. At five years old, she was adopted by Shoko Okada, an artist who received child support to raise her. By junior high school, Akira was coerced into a homosexual relationship with her stepmother. To escape this abusive situation, she decides to join Camp U.G. However, she is kidnapped from the camp and forced to fulfill her role as the donor for a Chinese empress, Li Gyokurei.
