Aki is a cold, sarcastic member of the literary club who lives alone in an apartment. Her attitude stems from being relentlessly bullied throughout middle school. Crying only exacerbated the bullying, so she began to ignore everyone and convinced herself that she was superior and untouchable by their actions.
She feels uneasy in group settings and is hesitant to call anyone her friend. However, she eventually warms up to Ryoko and the other literary club members. Aki secretly harbors feelings for Utsume but believes that a relationship between them would never work out.
Yomiko refers to her as the "Glass Monster" because, despite her sharp and cutting demeanor, she is actually fragile from years of bullying and secretly yearns for love.
