Ageha was once a slave and one of the few survivors of the Blue Nobles, a nomadic tribe nearly eradicated by the government. When Sarasa was younger, Ageha rescued her from the Red King, though he paid a heavy price by losing his left eye. Across Japan, he has numerous friends who owe him significant favors.
Often, Ageha travels with Madam Butterfly's troupe of itinerant performers, performing under the stage name Kicho, renowned as the star dancer. He owns an owl named Kagero, who is the parent of Sarasa's owl, Shinbashi.
