Kind of a sad, yet heartfelt chapter. I think Musashi could stand to learn a lot from this family and experience.



On a side note, that family needs to stop having children...

                        seems musashi learned about the family life and struggles of a normal human being. also that for some people buddha and being a swordsman don't go together.

This might be a good lesson for Musashi! Seeing the struggles of a poor normal family in a rural area. Quit the sad chapter :/

Really enjoyed this chapter. After too much "muh philosophy" stuff, I needed to see how the author could show us some struggle about the average japanese in those times. Chapter felt even more depressing in my case considering I read it while listening to  "Obokuri-Eeumi " (Samurai Champloo OST)



I feel like not many people would appreciate a nice chapter like this.
