The ability to put every bit of life into your swings is something not everybody does. Maybe for Musashi's case it comes from a point of no direction and using his untapped emotions to create such vigorous strikes. Yes he can beat many regular ronin, but like In'ei sensei said, when somebody encounters someone who can skillfully cut them down, it is a completely different ballgame.
