The first half was really funny and adorable.
I agree with Yama, they make a good couple (and I hope that things will work out for them in the end).
I had to laugh at that explanation of Nomiya about the kids getting excited to see something new not the good guys win cliche and the way that he didn't slip out of the Godzilla (?) costume was quite hilarious.
I find it interesting that some of the team members didn't want to train that hard since they wanted to focus all their energy on family/ job and their lives outside of the sport. This is a very valid and realistic occurrence and yet I haven't really seen any sport related manga/anime adress that difference in motivation this way. Usually there'd be a different motivation behind it, like realizing the limits of one's own potential and being disappointed and "giving up" but it still means that the sport means everything to the characters after all. This portrayal feels more grounded in reality.
That suggestion of raping Azumi was quite scary to be completely honest.
I wonder if Kiyoharu will stick with Yone and the other "motivated" Tigers or the national Japanese team.
The way the story is set up I assume that Takahashi will be the missing element that Kiyoharu needs to overcome his limits and actually win but Takahashi is still in rehab and far from feeling motivated. I wonder if he'll be part of the Tigers or meet Kiyoharu some other way.
And Nomiya must also find a team willing to take him (after all playing Power Rangers wasn't his path either, even Natsumi wants to see him succeed in Basketball)
