Nobu was so self-conscious about how his dad might see him as at that state after 8 whole years of not seeing him but as it turns out, it was actually the other way around. The guy must've been so stressed out and depressed that he looked like he aged decades in under ten years in addition to how unkempt he was. The old man looking at the ball he used to play with his son and silently sobbing in his empty house broke my heart into pieces.

He was so frustrated about not being able to feel anything that he crashed through that glass panel to see if his lower body can still feel pain but it didn't hurt at all even when he stabbed his own leg with a giant shard of glass several times. This manga's genuinely upsetting...

I had suspected that he had idealized his father for the past 8 years, silently blaming his mother (which also explains how their relationship has changed over time, with him as a child trying to impress her & being encouraged through her support to the present where he was annoyed to see her after the accident and makes his mother feel like she's failed him) so the shock must've been really bad.

I'm just glad that he didn't decide to stab himself in the neck or slit his wrists or anything.

Nice metaphore with the pottery (shaping, changing, destroying, old new etc.)
