Damn, that was intense! Despite her condition, I was still expecting Maki to somehow pull off a miracle as it doesn't really make much sense for her to be killed in action (seeing as how she's already dying anyway), but for a second there, I almost thought for certain that she was done for. That acting job definitely deserves some recognition-- not only did she outwit baldy, she had me fooled even!
On a side note, it's almost funny how Giichi is quickly turning into a mummy with all those bandages and dismembered body parts. Hyakurin's child would surely be lucky to have one badass (looking) daddy around should he manage to survive this ordeal, which I believe he will (for those 2 obvious reasons he have to live for).
