Akira Chapter 66 Discussion

[I am reading the DarkHorse issue of Akira. Here 120 chapters are converted into 38 parts. And the sequence of event is mixed up to match the new format. So, I know how many chapters I have read but do not know what part belong to which chapter.]



I think we are heading toward the finale in few chapters, even though 54 chapters are remaining. From what I have experience; Otomo may draw a lot but they are mostly long action and chase sequences. They don't progress the plot to the next point quickly. Hopefully, Otomo made USA and USSR more relevant to the main story other than sending spies. Given that Tetsuo seem to have started to withstand the drug withdrawal, I am excited to see him fight armies.



Not sure what happened to Kaneda but I wonder what role will he play in the finale. All of this have been quite surprising and I am eager to see how it will all end.

Yup, another chapter taking place with the battle at Miyako's palace. I guess Miyako's monks have a little more power to them than previously shown, and the people are retaliating against the invaders more. Otherwise, not much really happening yet. Looks like a bunch of more action scenes are going to follow.
