Akira Chapter 56 Discussion

[I am reading the DarkHorse issue of Akira. Here 120 chapters are converted into 38 parts. And the sequence of event is mixed up to match the new format. So, I know how many chapters I have read but do not know what part belong to which chapter.]



Tetsuo isn't simply out of being power hungry starting his cult but due to trauma of his past life want to create a new world. He is abusing power to receive pleasure from the followers but that also seem to be driven by some trauma. Dishearten by the fact his character fall this low. Ryu and Kay also seem to have some sort of mental break down even though they are still resourceful. Only Chiyoko seem to be that is still mentally sane as before.



I wonder who send these spies but I have to say; they are interesting on their own without there need to important impact of their role on the story. During troubling time nations send spies to other nations that's all. I wonder what happened to Kaneda after the disaster?

Tetsuo tried to confront Akira and somehow got teleported back to his "fungeon" shivering with fear. But the more important matter is Kei and Chiyoko being spotted by one of the cultist members, so now they're being monitored along with the other espers. Chapter ends with them being ambushed on their way out to start scouting.
