In this chapter, the story progresses a bit, but nothing too surprising happens. Naraku proves to be much smarter than Kaede and Miroku had imagined. The barrier they created is easily overcome, InuYasha escapes, and, if it weren't for Shippou, they would have lost the Shikon Jewel. At the end of the chapter, they find themselves cornered, Shippou is close to the well, and we get a glimpse of Kagome in the present. She's likely about to return, though I'm not sure how she could help. Poor Houjou.
