Amazing chapter. Nagi has always been lazy; we finally get introspection from Nagi's point of view, a clear picture of her inner emotions and her reason for being lazy - because failure is exponentially more difficult to deal with when you genuinely try. It's especially painful to realize (or at least to believe) that even if you win, the one you're working so hard for would actually be better off if you lost.
I don't know who will win the competition, but if Ruka does win then I figure she'll have resolved her issues by then so that she won't force Hayate to fulfill her wish for him to marry her anyways. The reason will probably something along the lines of Hayate having granted her real wish. With that, Hayate will return to being Nagi's butler and she'll be back to normal - sort of. She'll have matured a great deal after this ordeal.
