So... This series is STILL not over? But wow, what a fucking ride. quite different from the TV series too.



Can't wait for this to be over, I really didn't like the experience as much as I did with the TV series, but a lot more explanation was done. Read it in like... 4 days? Pretty good

I will admit this, the manga really does adapt these parts much better than in EoE, which is no small feat. Shinji's realization that the world in which he lived in was imperfect, but its the moments of despair and overcoming them that makes those moments of happiness that much better. Really masterful of Sadamoto to use those memories in the form of photos. Wonderful.

Unfortunately that means Rei will disappear from this new world. The way she fell over in the new world was pretty synonymous to snowfall, something Yui talked to Shinji about. Brilliant storytelling.

The part with them holding hands was touching. I even thought for a moment that Shinji might end up with Rei.

I keep forgetting how twisted it is too! Been actually years now since I read the manga and am up to date again. Crazy. But finally, be strong Shinji.

Crazy chapter. A very sad goodbye between Rei and Shinji. It looks like Rei won't be coming back now. The raining Rei everywhere a good callback to what Shinji's mother said about wanting him to see snow. I wonder how this is all going to come to an end. It's just like EoE where Shinji rejected Instrumentality, but the way he rejected it with Rei was much, much better than in the movie.

Badass entrance by Eva unit 01, Rei grows as a character.

                        I keep forgetting how twisted this series is. But seeing Shinji's want to hold the hands of others again even if they hurt him again is nice to see. Next chapter will be out in May. I think a hiatus for the series is once again coming up.
