One of the reasons which makes the manga better than the anime imho.

Kaji's backstory, the aftermath of the Second Impact, makes this one of my fav chapters in NGE.

                        This is the first time I have ever heard anyone discuss the immediate aftermath of Second Impact, or Kaji’s backstory.  I wish someone would right manga about that time of war.

Wow, very interesting chapter. Kaji's backstory was really interesting. I wish it would of been better shown in the anime, that was pretty cool. I still don't entirely see what this has to do with him spying on NERV, unless he just hates the military or something. That's really messed up that they just killed all those kids. But it doesn't surprise me, I could believe something like that actually happening.



I read this chapter and the last 2 at the same time and I forget what chapter this happens in, but when the angel's face appears from the ceiling of the Geofront if really cool. It's a really freaking looking giant face appearing from the smoke and all the upside down buildings.

One of those things you wish would have been in the manga, Kaji's past I mean. I think he's trying to tell Shinji that he shouldn't leave his friends and "family" high and dry like he did. Meanwhile Asuka is set to fight the Angel at Nerv's doorstep.
