Neon Genesis Evangelion Chapter 36 Discussion

Toji's character arc is starting to come together. I felt Shinji's reaction was a little off tho

Loved the scene between Toji & Shinji. Everything about it, from the apology for the punch at the beginning (really cathartic), to Shinji's attempt to remedy which he did a great job considering, and just how well they built up to it. I like how they planted the seeds earlier in the volume that Toji isn't one to open up or beg for pity, considering how things went in the anime (and with the numerous alterations the manga has been making) and how the scenes played out, I was legitimately uncertain whether or not Toji would confide in Shinji. I really hoped he would. Thankfully he did, and the scene delivered.

It's nice to see Touji is getting more development, even moreso than in the anime.

                        Two really solid scenes in this chapter.  It’s nice to see some development of Toji and I also liked to see Kaji set the record straight with Asuka.

Quite a chapter. I can't get into differences just yet, as that may lead to spoilers. But, the scene with Asuka and Kaji was really good. She was clearly trying to seduce him, which was rather extreme on her part, but in the process discovered that Toji is the 4th child.



Toji eventually told Shinji, before admitting that he was straight up terrified. This would no doubt be the reaction of many of the people who say Shinji should man up throughout the series. Loved the apology for punching Shinji near the beginning of the manga.

Your definition of a "slut" is way the hell out of whack.

Asuka can't get tired of acting so nice around Kaji, huh?

Err....Asuka might be many things, but she certainly isn't as low as that. It's just that she's woefully immature but desperately trying to prove she's adult enough to Kaji.

No wonder Toji doesn't care about girls, he is too busy trying to provide for his sister's treatment.
