Neon Genesis Evangelion Chapter 13 Discussion

Not much to say, it's pretty much identical to the anime. I liked Misato's lines about seeing Shinji smile.

That's just messed up. Knowing that your father priorities some other unrelated kid's life over yours

I like how the story manages to be emotionally engaging but also has very interesting lore as well. Such a great series

Rei seems more arrogant here, could be me though

I think Rei is worried about being replaced, not that she's arrogant.

                        I loved how Shinji handled Toji in this chapter.  The manga makes Shinji into a much more plausible character; he’s now a person I could reasonable expect to see in a school.



I’ve always been fascinated at Gendo’s interest in Rei as compared to Shinji.  I’m excited to see how this triangle will play out in the manga.

That Shinji lad is one pesky one, isn't he?

It makes it easier for the viewer to connect to him, imho.

Elsewhere its pretty much the same. Finally Rei is in more than one panel per chapter...

Great chapter with Toji and Shinji. He definitely handled it definitely than in the anime and the movies. Great flashback too, with Unit-00 going berserk.
