Sweet chapter, it's really a good break with the mood of the previous episode with all the violence and curse pursuit.

Not a fan of smuth in Eden, but I really loved the devellopment of the relation between Miriam and Elijah.

And I don't see much sexual jokes here, just a way to explore the intimacy of their couple. Erotism is a part of Eden, I brought myself to accept it.

Germinal also had some sexual content, and this didn't deteriorate the content of the story at all.

The certainly do.  Both are so damaged by the tragic events in their lives, but together they may be able to find what they need to function normally and hopefully come back stronger than ever.

Endo's embarrasing inability to fuse (force) sex and humour successfully into a tale that requires neither ensures I remove a point from my score.  A shame.  This really was a mature accomplished story for a while, now its just a few steps away from a your garden variety violence-tinged harem.

Despite all his virtues, Eliah is extremely immature and pretty damaged after all that has happened. I don't think him and Miriam will have a happy end to be honest.

THIS IS AN MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER.

That chapter was win.  Miriam and Elijah compliment each other well I think.  The fact that Miriam cared after he left that note was cute ^^.

So I guess he doesn't love her ... or at least not that much, I was actually hoping that perhaps he could fall for her and maintain a reason for living, but now I feel like he is going to go do something stupid, and not care whether he lives or dies.

I don't agree with this, I think the sex is pretty well fused to the rest of the life of the characters of Eden. I personally like how for once a manga explores a 'romance' thoroughly instead of just hinting of stuff happening behind the scenes. It really makes you feel that the characters care about each other.

I also think that the humor is a nice balance to very dark story that Eden is otherwise. Well, save for those stupid cooking apron scenes. One time would have been enough!

This chapter though pretty well proves that Eden has some of the best developed characters found in sci-fi, or any story for that matter, that I have seen. I could imagine every single character of the huge cast being the main character of this story. That is an achievement.

Interesting because underdeveloped characters is the reason Eden is criticized, or to be more specific presence of no complete character arcs. The mc is useless after Mana death, sophia's character is wasted, same for Helena etc. Only one or two characters were decent enough to get proper development, too many characters in second half introduced and killed for the sake of story without fleshing out or focusing on the main cast.

This was one uncomfortable sex scene. Not because of the sex scene itself but the "useless" murder that occurred at the same time. One finds happiness in other's misfortune. This manga has proven this point to be very true a bunch of times.

I wish Elijah can find his happy ending, but this manga is pretty cruel, so I won't get my hopes very high.

I think they do compliment each other well, and under different circumstances, could be happy. But, their life isn't good. They have lost more than gained and sometimes, relying on a half-assed relationship just won't fill the void.

i think they love each other even when neither expected to feel a thing for each other. and i'm glad the author is exploring romance in this story. it will suck if either of these characters died.

on another note, i wanted elijah to change a little more after losing mana. kind of wanted it to have a bigger impact on the way he spoke and things he did
