I Became The Necromancer Of The Academy Chapter 221 Discussion

Been a ghost-type reader far too often, but I'm thinking of writing reviews here and there for novels that I think are a tad bit too underrated.

When I first came upon the necromancer genre back in 2016, I was stoked. The story was fresh, new, exciting; I was tired of the goody-two-shoes shounen protagonists whose backstories basically revolved around "I want to get stronger cause I was saved by so and so, or that it's the best thing to be in the world, etc."

However, the genre quickly became a bore after a few years. A lot of copy-paste works who have a great start and eventually dive into the abyss of mediocrity are, for some reason, getting popularity because it's "edgy".

Don't let the title of this novel fool you. It's about a person who has suffered too much in life, and wants to help those who, despite having lost theirs and continued to do so as a soul, find reprieve and eternal rest.

This isn't your standard isekai wannabe edgy necromancer novel. The author wants the reader to understand the consequence of what it means to interact with the dead.
