Even though the plot appears to be the same old cultivation face-slapper, the choices were unexpected, the plot developed in different directions when compared to similar novels, and the way transmigration was woven into the the story, especially the second half, was a fresh & amusing take. Revenge might be a focus in the beginning, but the world-building, action, and subsequent character growth is well beyond that single issue. If you like this genre but feel bored with the usual, this is a good pick. Similarly, if you find yourself annoyed with Rofan where the OG book plot armor is either immutable or ignored entirely 10 chapters in, but you still like the general idea of fundamental rules causing conflicts, this book is also a good choice. There are no shrinking violets here, only badasses fighting amongst themes of morality, fairness, catharsis, and how our beliefs shape our experiences.
