Additional Inheritance Chapter Completed Discussion

Morals aside, I really enjoyed the dog blood of this novel hahahaha. Pretty engrossing from start to finish!

Is the ML scum? Oh yeah hell! I personally have a hard time liking the gongs in any crematoriums in general, and prefer focusing on the MC/side characters (yet I still like the trope because ya know, dog blood). What I really liked about Wen Xiaohui was his understanding of Luo Yi by the end of the novel.

Spoiler

Like how what happened in Sissy, WX still has some defenses up against LY when getting back together in the end. Even the bomb stunt where LY gambled his life, WX knew it was LY gambling his life to test WX's feelings. I think the greatest revenge is for the ML not being able to fully regain the shou's trust, because that is something you truly can't buy, kidnap, or force to get (unless there's a case of Stockholm Syndrome, then never mind).

I did get frustrated a couple times at the blaring red flags waving in front of Wen Xiaohui in the beginning, but for the most part I'm quite satisfied with his character. The novel feels completely different at the end, honestly a mess, but it reflects how much of a mess it made of Wen Xiaohui's life.

Another thing that I loved were the cameos, a big plus for the 188 series. Since I've already read Sissy, seeing a "different" side of Shao Qun was interesting to say the least. The dynamic between him and the MC was strangely quite cordial, and I found that one scene about Shao Qun mentioning his "first love" (*aggressively coughs* Li Chengxiu *cough*) a bit bittersweet. I can't say much about Li Shuo since I haven't read his novel yet, but damn what terrible luck being able to be disliked by both Shao Qun and Luo Yi lmfao (and 188 non-staff Qin Zijiao too). A Chinese comment said it best: 0's safe safe haven, 1's eye sore LOL. I appreciate the morals he abides to and that he has a bottom line, things I wish gongs in this universe would keep in mind more often...

Also Luo Rui, my love. I LOVED the dynamic between Luo Rui and the MC. Just in general, the different ways MC communicates with people (his mom, Luo Rui, Xiao Ai, Shao Qun, etc.) adds a lot more depth to his character. Luo Rui helped lighten things up and I'm glad he got his happy ending too.

The last thing I want to mention are these hilarious lines from ch101 that are the epitome of having a crow's mouth:

Spoiler

He [Wen Xiaohui] thought to himself how it was unlikely there would be another extreme relationship like theirs in this world.

Reading that after reading Sissy be like: 👁️➖👁️

Spoiler

Cao Hai noticed how Wen Xiaohui's eyes were swollen and red from crying and sighed. "I haven't seen a relationship plagued with more misfortune than yours in all my life. Are all gay relationships like this?"

Cao Hai you don't even know the half of it LOL!
