Denei Shoujo Chapter 103 Discussion

  • #2
This chapter had me back to being fed up with the story so I have to post.

"My wish is that you make up with Moemi," Ai says! Goodness me, this is just too painful...

Why does Ai have to be so pathologically altruistic? Why can't she just be selfish for once, and tell Moemi, "Sorry, but I want Yota"? I can't take it, bros...

Also, she's so much more pure than I am because she was able to see the good in Moemi still (in chapter 102). Due to Ai's talk with Moemi, the old Moemi was able to shine through not just with Ai, but with Yota (more on that at the end). While that is nice to see... I just don't really care about Moemi anymore LOL. And I don't want any more confusion. I want Yota to love Ai... and for Ai to accept his love. Am I crazy?

I have to say, too: I'm not a fan of how, the only reason Yota has considered loving Ai instead of Moemi, is because he knows she'll disappear if he doesn't. If Ai wasn't going to disappear, then would he have chose Moemi without questioning it? Does he really love Ai in that case...? Is my ship going to crash and burn?? (Is it even a "ship" if it's literally the main selling point of the manga?! At least... I thought it was the selling point of the manga?)

Also, I still maintain that I want actual romantic scenes between Ai and Yota, dammit. They're still not being intimate enough. Still acting too much like friends... because Ai won't let them go any further. Because Ai has not a selfish bone in her body. So, I don't think they'll grant my wish (or Natsumi's wish).

...And then at the end of the chapter, as Moemi returns to sanity and gives her signature charming and feminine smile, Yota says "I will come back to you Moemi" and hugs her.

Sigh... oh boy. I was really hoping Yota would have been weirded out by her imitation of Ai, but nope. I guess Yota too is just too "pure" for such a thing. Frustratingly so.

But you know what? Perhaps you need some pain in a good drama... as long as it all pays off...
