I Conquered the Villain Boss After Transmigrating Into a Novel Chapter Completed Discussion

It's a good novel with some faults. Nothing particularly off-putting so I'll give it 4 stars. MC and ML are okay, their friends and families have interesting backstories and the plot is fluid enough.

Pros:

-Jiang Ran is a very likeable protagonist. She's rational and witty and her IQ didn't vanish because of love (what a relief). Her backstory is interesting although not particularly novel. Her best weapon is knowing how to read people's hearts and she uses it well. Warning: she's not a heroine, she is willing to be cruel and ruthless when necessary but she's open about it. Family and friends are more important than strangers, I'm okay with that, especially in this setting.

-Protagonist is strong but not quite in the common trope. Spoiler

Jiang Ran became pretty strong but not in the usual overpowered way (although there were some unrealistic victories) as she never got any "combative" power. ML trained her in other ways so she'd be able to protect herself

-ML was okay, had personality and his own beliefs. That's to say, he didn't become a love brain. He prioritized MC but also disagreed with her at some points and didn't change his beliefs, he just followed her lead because he cared about her and didn't care much about other things. They had a nice, warm romance (very much understated and not in your face) with a natural progression: you treat me well, I treat you well that led to companionship and trust and liking and then love.

-Family and friends are mostly well developed and have their own distinctive traits and backstories.

Cons:

-Plot holes everywhere. Don't expect much of the worldbuilding and plot logic. There's not much explanation about the world setting, the zombie virus or politics (but maybe I missed some of it in the MTL?). It's pretty much the standard zombie virus with mutated superpowered humans and zombies. The bewildering part is the timeline and logic for past events... Magically, the base was built in such a way that the decades old lab and the family manors of powerful families are all within the defensive walls and nicely situated (base built around the Shen manor? or was the city enclosed to turn it into a base?). The author seemed to occasionally forget the virus had only been a thing for less than a year when she described past events. Spoiler

ML's mother hated her lover's sister who was also MC's father best friend but never saw fit to warn him she was a green tea crazy woman who was prone to stabbing people? even though she loved him like a brother? An old lab for human or animal experiments (creating mutations or superpowered subjects) in every base manged by different families... were they all working on the zombie virus or what's the logic for it? A conspiracy by all the rich families?

[collapse]. All the powerful families were so stable even though the virus was so recent...

-Villains are s*upid and keep coming back like c*ckroaches. For some mysterious reason MC and ML won't take them seriously enough to kill them and get rid of threats when they have the chance.

-MC and ML are unrealistically lucky in the way that nothing bad ever happens to them Spoiler

they get out every trap or attack unscathed, it's ok for ML since he's one of the top 3 most powerful superpowered humans but MC has no combative power apart from nullifying skills so it's unreasonable for her to never suffer a real defeat. Even the most powerful cannibalistic zombie suddenly sided with MC because he liked her cooking so much that he suddenly felt disgusted by human flesh
