It started off pretty great and is mostly about the kids and the infuriating relatives. Then, the author tried to work on the romance. I think the author was probably stumped on how to progress the novel as there isn’t much of it. Spoiler
Due to the literal 10 year time skip so we go from awkward crushing directly to 10th year of marriage finale lol
